Britax Marathon ClickTight Car Seat
The Britax ClickTight car seats are named for their ClickTight installation technology that helps parents make sure that their child's seat is installed correctly every time. Just turn the key, thread the belt through the path, and click it tight!
This tech comes standard in all three seats, and in truth, the seats are more alike than they are different. All the car seats in the ClickTight family also feature the same weight limits (up to 40 lbs rear facing, and 65 forward) with adjustable height headrests to grow with your child. But here are a few specs that differentiate the Marathon, Boulevard, and Advocate ClickTight seats.
Side Impact Protection
All the seats in the ClickTight family are equipped with side impact protection, but the seats differ in their level of protection. Each seat will feature a sturdy, steel frame, but will vary in the head rest protection.
The Marathon is the base model seat and comes with SafeCell Complete Protection with a soft foam on the head rest. Boulevard ClickTight has Impact Protection Plus--an extra layer of protection and a more sufficient and firm head rest. Lastly, the Advocate features SafeCell Impact Protection MAX, with the sturdier head rest similar to the Boulevard, but with an added layer of protection on the outer layer of the frame to protect against shrapnel in the event of a side impact crash.
Britax Boulevard ClickTight Car Seat
HUGS Harness
HUGS is a great feature in the ClickTight seats and is designed to keep the shoulder straps of your child's harness from moving or slipping. As the base model, the Marathon features HUGS, but is the only seat that doesn't offer SafeCell tech as an added layer of protection in the event of a crash.
Both the Boulevard and the Advocate harnesses are equipped with the SafeCell honeycomb which will help to disperse energy and absorb impact during an accident.
Click and Safe
This is another feature that you'll find in both the Boulevard and the Advocate but isn't available with the Marathon ClickTight. This will help you when it comes to making sure your child's harness is tight enough.
The Marathon will be a standard harness design, and you'll need to manually check for tightness (either using the 2-finger or the pinch method) and adjust as needed. But with Click and Safe found in the Boulevard and Advocate, you simply pull on the tether, and wait for the "click" to gauge that the straps are tight enough.
