We did it. We’ve officially begun Christmas shopping. My husband and I were out on a date and ended up at the supermarket. While mindlessly walking aisles in the Christmas décor department, my husband made a decree that from now on, when we’re at the store alone together without our kids this year, we have to buy at least one Christmas present for one or both of them. We’ve often started on our Christmas stash this early, and below are a few reasons why.
When the time is taken to pick out more thoughtful toys, we end up with a whole lot less “kids meal” styled, easily broken, unimpressionable toys than lasting, better looking, and much higher quality toys. The closer to Christmas or birthdays we get, the more likely we are to become rushed, and therefore we end up with toys that are pretty lame. Sure, money plays a large role here, but I’d much rather spend my money on a nicer toy that is more expensive, than 10 cheap toys that aren’t going to make it past a couple of months. Picking out the perfect toys early on is also great for:- A budget
