The Maxi-Cosi Pria All-in-One Convertible Car Seat combines all of the best features in a car seat! Now that you have your new Pria, you may feel overwhelmed with the thought of having to install it! After all, you need the car seat to be placed correctly so that it does its job! Installation Guide:
Rear-Facing Mode
with the Seat Belt:
- Insert or remove infant pillows depending on your child’s age and size.
- Pull the recline handle on the front of the car seat (found just below where the child’s feet would rest.)
- Push the car seat back into a reclined position until it clicks into the 3rd position.
- Place the car seat rear facing on the vehicle seat.
- Check the level to ground line, indicated by a sticker on the side of your Pria, making sure the red line is parallel with the ground.
- Pull the seat belt out with a generous amount of slack and thread it through the rear facing belt pathway. (This is located under the cupholders on the seat).
- Buckle the seatbelt into place.
- Push down on the seat while pulling up on the shoulder belt to remove any slack.
- Check the seat for stability by pushing the seat from side to side. It should not move more than an inch.
with Lower Anchors and Tether:
- Follow steps 1-3 above.
- Remove the lower anchors from the storage compartment on the side of the seats.
- Thread the connector without the adjustor through the rear facing mode belt path found under the cupholders on the seat.
- Place the car seat rear facing on the seat.
- Check the level to ground line, indicated by a sticker on the side of your Pria, making sure the red line is parallel to the ground.
- Click the latch connectors into the anchor system in your vehicle.
- Push down on the seat while pulling up on the adjustor to remove any slack.
- Check the seat for stability by pushing the seat from side to side. It should not move more than an inch.
Forward-Facing Mode
with Seat Belt and Tether
- Pull the recline handle (found at the front of the seat where your child’s feet would rest) and slide the seat into position 1 or 2, whichever allows the back of the car seat to sit flush against your vehicle seat.
- Loosen the tether that is attached on the back of the car seat.
- Place the car seat on the vehicle seat and thread the tether through the head rest.
- Attach the tether loosely to the anchor on the back of the vehicle seat.
- Pull out the seat belt with added slack and thread it through the forward facing belt path, indicated with stickers on the side of the seat.
- Buckle the seatbelt into place. Double check to make sure there are no twists in the seat belt!
- Push down on the car seat while pulling up on the shoulder strap of the seat belt to remove slack.
- Push car seat from side to side to ensure it doesn’t move more than an inch.
- Remove all slack from the tether on the back of your vehicle seat.
with Lower Anchor and Tether
- Pull the recline handle (found at the front of the seat where your child’s feet would rest) and slide the seat into position 1 or 2, whichever allows the back of the car seat to sit flush against your vehicle seat.
- Remove the lower anchors from the storage compartment on the side of the seats.
- Thread the connector with the adjustor through the forward facing belt path indicated by the stickers on the side of the car seat. Make sure there are no twists in the belt!
- Loosen the tether that is attached on the back of the car seat.
- Place the car seat on the vehicle seat and thread the tether through the head rest.
- Attach the tether loosely to the anchor on the back of the vehicle seat.
- Hook the lower latch connectors to the latch system in your car.
- Push down on the car seat while pulling up on the anchor adjustor to remove slack.
- Push car seat from side to side to ensure it doesn’t move more than an inch.
- Remove all slack from the tether on the back of your vehicle seat.
