What Are We Doing This Weekend: Staying In

Are you looking to add a little something special to your weekend? Are you trying to get the kids involved? Well, here are a bunch of great activities you can do with your family this weekend!

Board Game Night

Board game night is a favorite in any home! Try some that get you up and around like charades, Heads up, or Pictionary! Change up the teams with every game to make it fair. 

Cooking

Cooking together as a family is such a great way to add some fun to your weekend! You can ask your kids to plan out either breakfast, lunch, or dinner (or all three?), make a list of everything you'll need, and go out and get the ingredients together. Then get back home and let those little chefs get to work on their meals. All they need is a little help with cutting and anything including fire, but otherwise let them get creative!

Ice Cream

Try your hand at making ice cream at home. Plan out with your littles what flavors they would want, and get all the ingredients together. If you don't have an ice cream machine at home, you can always have an ice cream sundae night!

Cards

Bust out the decks of cards and play as a family. Whether your family is into Go Fish, Spoons, or even Phase 10, it is so much fun to spend time without the TV on and play as a family.

Dance Party

How about you turn up the volume with some of your favorite hits and have an impromptu dance party? Parents will have their kids rolling on the floor laughing from their silly moves.

Movie Marathon

Print up some movie tickets for you and your family, pop some popcorn, and have a movie marathon at home! Make sure and include your kids and partner in the movie choosing, and get ready to see your little ones pass out midway through movie number two.

Family Sleepover

How about turning your family room into a blanket and pillow fort and having a family sleepover? You can all cuddle up in your comfy jammies and watch a favorite movie with some yummy snacks!

Karaoke

Got some stars in the making? Well how about some at-home karaoke?! You can find any song you could ever want to hear on Youtube and there are sure to be karaoke versions too. If you don't have a mic, make one from an old paper towel roll and get singing! You could also have an American-Idol-style panel to judge the performance!

Making a memorable weekend doesn't have to mean you're driving all over or spending tons of cash to make it happen. Just use what you have, add in some laughs and your family will be set for the best weekend ever! XO
